Ethan A. Chatov
Professional Experience
Ethan engages in litigation for the firm on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants alike. He defends general contractors as well as subcontractors in disputes encompassing a broad spectrum of construction defect claims. He has defended negligence and personal injury claims arising out of construction accidents and motor vehicle accidents. Ethan has also represented plaintiffs in real estate disputes, securities claims, and miscellaneous tort and contract actions.
Education
Ethan received his law degree from the Willamette University College of Law in Salem, Oregon, where he served as President of his class and President of the Student Bar Association. At Willamette, Ethan received Honors in Legal Research and Writing and was a member of the Moot Court Board. Previously, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Speech at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
During law school, Ethan clerked for Multnomah Defenders, Incorporated, where he gained extensive courtroom experience representing indigent criminal defendants facing misdemeanor charges. He also provided legal services to low-income civil claimants through the Willamette University College of Law Clinical Law Program. Prior to joining Wiles Law Group, Ethan worked as a floating Judicial Clerk at the Multnomah County Circuit Court and started his own law firm, Chatov Law LLC, through which he represented plaintiffs in a variety of tort and contract disputes.
Professional Affiliation
Ethan is a member of the Oregon State Bar Association and the Multnomah Bar Association, where he currently serves on the board of the YouthFILM Committee.
Personal
Ethan grew up in Amherst, New York, and spent over six years in the Chicago high tech industry working as a graphic, web, and multimedia designer. Ethan is an avid skier and an accomplished musician who has played violin since age four. He majored in violin performance his freshman year at Northwestern’s prestigious School of Music, and is currently a member of the Portland Jewish Community Orchestra. Ethan has also belonged to numerous other classical and popular music ensembles in the Portland area.
